At Grand River Eye Care, we help you see, look and feel your best. We are an independent Optometry Practice, Eyewear Boutique, Dry Eye Clinic and Medi Spa in Waterloo, with leading-edge dry eye and aesthetics treatments.

This job requires previous experience in the Optical or Optometry field.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for medical pre-testing, history taking, front desk and assisting our doctors. Responsibilities

  • Managing patient flow
  • pre-testing, dispensing, reception and coordinating with team members
  • Repairing and adjusting patients’ eyewear
  • Medical testing including OCT scans, auto refraction, visual fields and corneal topography
  • Dry eye testing including tear osmolarity and inflammation testing

The Successful Candidate

  • Is passionate about customer experience and is a great communicator in the English language
  • Previous optometric/optical experience
  • Has a flair for fashion and the latest style trends and is interested in glasses
  • Is committed to excelling as a member of a high-performing team
  • Is able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Has good computer knowledge, including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Is able to work in Canada immediately
