New Vista Optometry was established 4 years ago to provide the ocular needs of a growing neighbourhood in the Kilally Valley Community in northeast London, Ontario. Our passion is to serve the community and to give our patients unsurpassed optometric and optical care. We are a primary care practice that serves everyone from infants to nonagenarians and their families, in a warm, positive, friendly environment. Our dispensary consists exclusively of independent frame lines and the best contact lenses in the industry, with our frames originating from all over the world.

The successful candidate is an experienced and emotionally mature individual. They are a warm, professional team member who enjoys building relationships with patients and co-workers alike. Strong communication skills are a part of their fabric, with a passion for excellent customer service to patients and commitment to supporting other team members. They are energetic, highly self-motivated, able to multitask, can work independently and can excel in a busy environment. Time management is one of their greatest assets as well as problem solving and critical thinking. They are patient and kind, and enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds. Being knowledgeable in their craft, they are well-versed in and excited about our optical products and enjoy educating our patients regarding our offerings, always with a welcoming smile. They are eager to provide an experience that goes beyond the patient’s expectations and enjoy taking an interest in the latest trends in the fashion and optical industry. Life-long learning is a passion. They must be punctual, reliable and trustworthy. They present themselves and dress in a professional manner. Precision and attention to detail is important to them and they take pride in a job well done. They are respectful with patients, other team members and vendors in person, on the phone and digitally.

Duties include:

Overall supervision of the optical boutique, including sales, and management of staff and inventory.

Assisting patients in selecting appropriate frames aesthetically and lenses for their work and play.

Accurately measuring and recording eyewear specifications and ensuring finished spectacles are made to prescription.

Perform eyewear adjustments and repairs when required.

Shipping patient frames to our labs; receive and inspect lab orders.

Input frames into our inventory management system.

Maintain inventory by the selection and purchasing of frames, keeping in mind the needs and fashion preferences of patients; handling returns when necessary.

Participate in new contact lens fittings and refits when required.

Educate patients and other team members about new lens products and which lenses are best suited for patients.

Maintain a clean and organized optical boutique and adjustment room.

Participate in the social media marketing of our optical products and services.

Adhere to and enforce our standard operating procedures, policies and safety protocols.

Provide other team members with support for administration, booking appointments as well as pretesting and imaging, when necessary.
