Optometric Assistant

LMC Optometry & Eye Care

Currently, our growing team is looking for an Optometric Assistant who can work with us on a permanent, full-time basis at our LMC Brampton Optometry location.
The Optometric Assistant supports our Eye Care clinic and Optometrists by obtaining preliminary case history and pretesting patients for eye exams; performing reception work such as answering phones, checking patients in/out, and sending out referrals; maintaining records, correspondence and filing.
Responsibilities:

 Greeting patients in person, by telephone, or online
 Booking/Scheduling appointments and making recalls
 Pretesting patients and other auxiliary tests
 Scanning, filing and faxing reports/charts
 Facilitate patient referrals/reports to other healthcare professionals
Requirements:

 One year experience in an optical setting
 High School or College Graduate
 Ophthalmic Assistant diploma preferred
 Excellent verbal and communication skills
 Strong interpersonal skills, friendly and caring, outgoing personality
 Customer service experience is essential
 Must be proficient with computers and monetary transactions
 Able to follow directions and take personal responsibility for actions
 Must demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills
 Ability to work independently and in a team
 Fashionable professional attire
 Passion for learning and dealing with people
 Able to follow through on tasks with attention to detail
 Able to multitask
