Currently, our growing team is looking for an Optometric Assistant who can work with us on a permanent, full-time basis at our LMC Brampton Optometry location.
The Optometric Assistant supports our Eye Care clinic and Optometrists by obtaining preliminary case history and pretesting patients for eye exams; performing reception work such as answering phones, checking patients in/out, and sending out referrals; maintaining records, correspondence and filing.
Greeting patients in person, by telephone, or online
Booking/Scheduling appointments and making recalls
Pretesting patients and other auxiliary tests
Scanning, filing and faxing reports/charts
Facilitate patient referrals/reports to other healthcare professionals
One year experience in an optical setting
High School or College Graduate
Ophthalmic Assistant diploma preferred
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, friendly and caring, outgoing personality
Customer service experience is essential
Must be proficient with computers and monetary transactions
Able to follow directions and take personal responsibility for actions
Must demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
