Annex EyeCare

Annex Eyecare is looking for an experienced optical dispenser to join our team for 2-3 days a week. The office is an independent Optometry Clinic on Bloor Street/Avenue Rd accessible to both subways lines. We have been serving the U of T and Yorkville neighborhoods since 2001. We are a progressive clinic with state of the art equipment with great doctors, great staff and most importantly, great patients who treat us with respect. We are rated 4.9 stars on Google reviews and we always strive to provide a positive, happy work environment.

Our ideal candidate is confident, caring and professional in their interactions with patients, staff and doctors. We are looking for someone who enjoys helping people, is detail-oriented, efficient and organized and has excellent communication skills. Perfect English speaking abilities and proficiency with computers are a must. Experience with electronic medical records will be an asset.

We have an in house edging lab, proficiency with edging is required.

Skills required:

More than 3 years of current experience and expertise in dispensing single vision and multi-focal eyeglasses.
Ability to edge.

Proficiency with tools and methods for eyeglass adjustment and repair.

Experience in consultative (needs based) sales, with a proven record of success.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Assess patients eye wear needs.
Educate patients about types of lenses and lens enhancements.
Recommend frame and lens selections based on appearance, lifestyle and prescription requirements.
Properly fit new glasses and inform patients of potential adjustment and adaptation periods.
Adjust and repair frames as needed by patients.
Assist with marketing and promotions.
Participate in frame selection and visual merchandising.

Ability to bill to 3rd party (Telus/Direct insurance portals)
