Job Posting: Front Desk Coordinator with Optometric Experience (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Location: Barrie, ON

Position: Full-time Front Desk Coordinator (Maternity Leave Coverage, with Potential for Permanent Hire)

We are a growing, customer-service driven Optometry office in Barrie, looking for a Front Desk Coordinator to cover maternity leave. This is a full-time position with the possibility of permanent hire after the leave period. If you have optometric experience, are passionate about patient care, and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, we want to meet you!

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients, providing a warm and professional experience
  • Schedule appointments, manage the office calendar, and assist with rescheduling
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and offer general office support
  • Verify insurance information, process billing, and handle patient records with confidentiality
  • Assist the Optometrist with pre-testing, visual fields and doing optical coherence tomography scans
  • Maintain office cleanliness, organization (including updating SOPs) and helping the optician maintain inventory of optical supplies
  • Foster positive patient relationships, ensuring they feel valued and supported
  • Perform other front desk duties as needed to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an optometry or healthcare office is preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
  • Proficiency with office software and basic computer skills (advanced stills would be an asset)
  • Friendly, team-oriented attitude and a genuine passion for helping others
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the optometric field
