Calgary Family Eye Doctors is looking for a lively and outgoing personality to join our growing team. We take pride in providing excellent patient care and we are looking for someone who will help us maintain these standards.

OPTICAL ASSOCIATE (FULL-TIME POSITION)

We are looking to add primarily to our busy optical team. The right candidate will be proficient in all aspects of optical dispensing and will be required to also help with front desk duties and on occasion diagnostic testing (pretesting).

Skills needed:

  • Lively, outgoing personality and love for people.
  • Passion for sales and an eye for fashion.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Visual Eyes is an asset but not required.

Experience: Only candidates with experience will be contacted for an interview (Opticians licence not required)

Job Duties:

Optical:

  • Proficient in dispensing, taking measurements and discussing the best lens options for patients. (SV, PALs, Task Specific Lenses)
  • Proficient in frame selection with an eye for fashion.
  • Proficient in adjustments and repair of eyewear.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting eyewear.
  • We use Zeiss lenses primarily and on occasion Nikon. Familiarity with these lenses is an asset.
  • Myopia control: Experience with myopia control lenses is an asset but not required. We will train the right candidate. We use Zeiss, Essilor and Hoya Myopia control lenses.

Reception: Greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, booking appointments and various administrative tasks related to patient care, payment processing and insurance billings.

Pretesting: Training will be provided if the candidate has no pretesting experience. Equipments employed in pretesting: Auto-refraction, Tonometry (Icare), FDT, Humphreys VF, OCT, Optomap, MYAH.

Contact Lenses: Familiarity with contact lenses and CL trainings is an asset but not required.
