Inspired Eyes is hiring a Full Time LabTechnician to perform in-house manufacturing of new eyeglasses, frame repairs and custom modifications of eyeglass frames. In addition to edging lenses into frames, the back end of our operations requires high attention to detail in order to maintain accurate ordering of jobs and well managed inventories for frames, lenses and contact lenses.

Inspired Eyes is an optical boutique and full scope optometric clinic set in a charming historic building in downtown Kelowna, BC. Our style of vision care is based on kindness and connection, building trust, and creating relationships with our clientele. Our team works synergistically to serve our clients with genuine care and compassion. We are looking for someone like you, who is technically minded and detail oriented to help us deliver premium eyewear to our valued clientele.

Front of house staff will work with the clients to help them select frames and lenses and will count on you to ensure the glasses are manufactured to the specifications ordered. Our tools and equipment for edging lenses are top of the line, with advanced capabilities for you to explore. If you are a person with an aptitude for numbers, have an interest in operating and maintaining high caliber precision machinery, and possess a high capacity for learning and an ability to think in three dimensions, then you will be well suited to master the finesse of manufacturing exquisite eyewear.

Outcomes you will be responsible for include: verifying that the eyewear we dispense meets our high standard for accuracy, keeping our delivery times as efficient as possible, managing and improving cost of goods ratios, and keeping accurate inventories by entering incoming products and keeping track of credits for returned products. You will work with, and build relationships with multiple vendors from whom we source our products.

Wage offered will vary depending upon your relevant experience and certifications. If you are an eyecare professional with a love of lab work, we may well be the place for you! If you honed your mathematical and mechanical aptitudes in another field of manufacturing, we can train you to transfer your skills to the world of optical expertise. Wages may vary from $23-$33 per hour depending upon your credentials, skill set, experience and amount of training required.
