Optometric Assistant / Receptionist

No Weekends!

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our quickly growing Optometry and Vision Therapy Clinic as a Receptionist. Our focus is to provide the highest quality of vision care for our patients. The applicant needs to be enthusiastic to provide excellent patient care, energetic, professional, detail oriented, and a team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensure a positive patient experience at the clinic
  • Greet and check-in patients as they arrive to the clinic
  • Assist patients with any questions
  • General reception duties (i.e. scheduling appointments, invoicing, answering calls & emails, etc.)
  • Perform pretesting and diagnostic testing on patients
  • Maintain an up-to-date record of patient information, phone calls, etc. in patient file
  • Assist doctors with contact lens training, and ordering
  • Arrange incoming and outgoing referrals
  • Ensure good patient and office flow
  • Arrange vision therapy assessments and treatment sessions
  • Liaise and coordinate with other health care providers (i.e. optometrists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, etc) and third parties (i.e. auto insurance adjusters, WSIB, etc)
  • Participate in personal and team development training and initiatives
  • Create and post content to social media and website
