Experienced Optometric Assistant - Toronto Centre Eye Care

We are searching for an Optometric Assistant to join our health care team. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Toronto Centre Eye Care has a proud history of excellent patient care in a cozy practice located at 180 Dundas Street W. in downtown Toronto. The practice has 2 doctors and a small team of employees. Located along the subway line, a half block from the St. Patrick subway station.

Our growing team enjoys promotion from within and competitive salaries.

We are looking for a dynamic and strong dispenser who can handle all tasks in an optometry office from reception, preliminary testing, to dispensing and quality control. Your main responsibilities will include:

    • Working closely with our optometrists and team mates to provide excellent patient/customer care
    • Educating patients on eye health and related issues
    • Dispensing and educating patients on their eye wear options
    • Contact lens instruction
    • Properly taking spectacle measurements
    • Insurance and provincial health care billings
    • Accurate and careful handling of patient files
    • Optical inventory – ordering, tracking, pricing and cost controls
    • Reception and telephone duties
    • Preliminary testing
    • Data entry, accurately completing daily reports

Strong communication skills and attention to detail is a must. An ideal candidate has experience and is self-motivated to grow and learn.
