JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager of Learning & Development, The Learning & Development Trainer facilitates the delivery of training and learning solutions to Eye Recommend members. This position is responsible for the development and execution of all training programs using a variety of techniques including classroom training, in-office training, online training, and other technologies. The Learning & Development Trainer, in partnership with the Business Coaches, identifies and assesses the training needs of members, recommends improvements to skill training, new hire orientation and training programs and other businesses and/or corporate wide training programs and initiatives and makes recommendations for improvements when requested.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide training and/or support at Eye Recommend and industry events
  • Facilitate all training programs with a high degree of professionalism and organization – our goal is to provide a second to none training experience.
  • Responsible for the creation of new in office trainings based on membership needs.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the Business Coaches on areas that they can assist for member in-office training, assessments and opportunities.
  • Support training colleagues as required in creation, organization and speaking guidance.
  • Offer strong customer service to internal ER staff and act as a liaison and contact person for training related inquiries, answer general questions as needed.
  • Provide direction to ER Members and Office Managers on training implementation, procedures and best practices or all other inquiries as needed.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • Provincial license or certification by a nationally accredited association such as an Optician or Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant (CCOA)
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Able to self motivate as well as work within a team both in person and virtually
  • Ability to navigate and tailor training to various learning styles

  • Proficient PC knowledge including Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Willing and able to travel throughout the region as needed
